The Hotel Odisej is in a stunning location. Rooms are basic but clean, with enormous beds which are surprisingly comfortable. As a base to explore the Mljet National Park it is superb and you can be at the small lake in 10-15 minutes.
Staff are fine and breakfast is really pretty good. Evening meals lack variety, however, and not everything is cooked well, especially vegetables which are often soggy and overdone. If you like roast meats you will do OK.
I recommend trying their own pizzeria a couple of nights as it is great and excellent value. The beach bar is also fun.
We stayed in a Double Room (with Balcony & Sea View) on a half-board basis. We had arrived at the port of Sobra with our car, and the hotel is only about 29km away.
The location is great, and the view from our room is amazing (see photos attached). Breakfast and Dinner were brilliant! It's very worthwhile to take up their half-board basis. Room is of adequate size and very clean. Although furniture is a bit dated, everything was working well and we have no complaints.
Josip at the Reception was super helpful and knowledgeable when asked about the trails and highlights of the island. There was a lady manager (who is very tall) who handled the situation very professionally when our room's toilet leaked due to a re-installation when the previous guests broke the toilet. It didn't spoil our stay, and all we can say is, well done to the entire team!
We enjoyed swimming in the sea in front of the hotel. There are limited space for sunbeds, though. However, there's a nice bar around the area for guests to sit and have a drink while waiting for available sunbeds.
we are very satisfied with our stay overall, and can highly recommend this hotel to others visiting the beautiful island of Mljet.
Great value hotel with good facilities and helpful staff. Special mention to Iluji and Lili in the restaurant and Josef on reception and the lady who checked us in. Rooms are basic but beds are big and comfortable and bathrooms are modern with good showers. To have Half board option included was a big bonus when you consider how much it costs now to eat out in Croatia now. Wide range of food choices at both breakfast and dinner. Something for every taste.
It is a really good hotel! It has 3 stars but it has many good sides to it. The location is great, the breakfast and dinner were good, the service is professional, the rooms are old but clean, and the beach part is with a pool and sunbeds perfect for kids and ppl without it. I am super satisfied.
Lovely hotel with basic rooms, but very friendly staff and a great breakfast buffet included. We were also allowed a late check-out time (until right before our late afternoon ferry left), no charge.
We had a wonderful time at this hotel.
The location is absolutely perfect, with a private beach with beach chairs for the guests and a lovely bar. The room was clean, large enough and the bed …
Payed €286 to stay one night in a suite. It smelled TERRIBLE in one of the bath rooms so we couldn’t use it and really bad in the other one. The hotel didn’t compensate at all. Before that we spent one night in a room with “sea view” but …
We paid €400 for 2 rooms (no family rooms available) and that certainly wasn’t worth it. Hotel is mostly occupied by tour operators. Rooms are fine but basic and in need of renovation. Towels were new andnot pre-washed (hence did not absorp); new towels were promised but never delivered. Breakfast is until 10 AM but no refills after 9.30 (when yoghurt, croissants and fruit had already finished). Beach chairs are occupied early morning for the rest of the day. There are loads of lovely and charming places to stay while on Mljet; I would recommend one of those other locations.
